A status symbol, an object of desire or a cool means of transport….the Vespa scooter is truly iconic. Having been with us for over 60 years, and now that the faithful 2 stroke is no more, the modern 4 stroke shows no signs of losing its appeal. In just a few years, Piaggio have a few models and special editions under their belt and sales continue to rise. Despite the love of the 2 stroke and many a scooterists’ deep faith, the 4 stroke is converting people; after all they are the future. Vespas are everything we want them to be irrespective of whether they are 50 years old of decaying steel or a gleaming Vespa GTS 300 Super. They communicate to us; they say similar things about their owners. Ok, so the 2 stroke Vespas can bellow out a little smoke however compensates for this by returning around 80 mpg, so who’s committing the crime, the 2 stroke scooterist or the 6 litre Merc company director? There is no doubt about it, Vespas are head turners and with the economy nowhere near stable, with VAT increasing to 20% shortly and fuel always the chancellors first target, Vespas will no doubt continue to as popular as ever as cars are increasingly exchanged in favour of the Italian wonder! take a look at our used Vespas and join the elite club!
